Fund Accountant
Cerberus Capital Management is a global leader in alternative investing with a focus on various strategies. They are seeking a fund accountant to maintain the books and records of several funds in accordance with US GAAP, requiring interaction with multiple departments and fund administrators.ResponsibilitiesAccurately prepare and record accounting entries in accordance with firm policy and US GAAPResponsible for the timely and accurate review of the monthly books and records prepared by fund administrators as well as internal reporting of both estimated and final fund PnL & returnsReview the completeness and accuracy of monthly economic allocations, management fee / waterfall calculations and investor statementsResponsible for calculations of investor capital calls and distributions, as well as accurate tracking of unfunded commitments, and recallable distributions for each investorPrepare internal and external deliverables including investor requests, internal data requests, regulatory reporting requests and, from time to time, ad hoc projections of fund/investor dataReview payments/reimbursements for fund expenses and management fees and clear the ensuing cash breaksCommunicate regularly with third party administratorsResponsible for the review of quarterly unaudited and annual audited financial statements as well as annual footnote disclosures and financial highlightsInteraction with Operations, Investor Relations, Legal, Tax, Financial Reporting and Technology to resolve process and accounting issuesManaging and modifying accounting/financial systems, procedures, and processes, as necessarySkillsBachelor's degree in Accounting1-3 years of public or private accounting experienceExperience with a wide assortment of financial products, including fixed income securities, equities, repos, and financial derivativesExperience with private equity and hedge funds, as well as other complex fund structuresTeam player and detail orientedMust work well in a very dynamic and deadline driven cultureExcellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skillsProficiency with Microsoft Office Products (Excel, Word) requiredExperience with consolidated and combined presentation of financial statementsStrong understanding of information systems, relationship tables, and the role data plays in efficient processesCPA preferredAlteryx and Power Bi experience a big plusData warehouse experience is a plusBenefitsAnnual discretionary bonusRobust benefits packageCompany OverviewCerberus Capital Management is a private investment firm that focuses on operational private equity investments.
