Shape the Financial Future of a High-Growth Real Estate Venture
A client of Talent Edge Recruiting, a dynamic and entrepreneurial real estate investment and development firm, is seeking a Controller to take ownership of their financial operations. This newly created position offers a rare opportunity to join an early-stage company with active projects, multiple entities, and ambitious growth plans—including launching a general contracting division.
With just over $10M in current revenue and the potential to realize $70M–$100M across its ventures, this firm is positioned for significant expansion. The Controller will be a trusted partner to the CEO and play a pivotal role in bringing day-to-day accounting in-house.
What You'll Do
You’ll lead all accounting, reporting, and project-level financial operations, including:
• Overseeing multi-entity accounting and intercompany reconciliations
• Managing construction accounting workflows (draws, pay apps, job cost tracking)
• Handling daily bookkeeping, cash flow, and bank reconciliations
• Creating and maintaining project-level budgets and forecasts
• Preparing monthly/quarterly financial statements and internal reports
• Recording soft/hard costs, capitalized interest, and tracking overall development spend
• Managing AR processes for the firm’s investment funds
• Helping implement internal controls, approval processes, and accounting infrastructure
• Working directly with the CEO and supporting project onboarding/setup
✅ Must-Have Qualifications
• 5+ years of accounting experience in real estate development or construction
• Strong understanding of construction financials (job costing, draws, cost tracking)
• Experience with multi-entity accounting and QuickBooks Online
• High level of organization, independence, and attention to detail
• Excel proficiency and ability to develop cash flow models and financial projections
• Familiarity with real estate capital structures (debt, equity, promote models)
