Are you an experienced Accounting professional looking for an exciting opportunity to take on a leadership role? We are seeking an exceptional candidate for the position of Accounting Manager. As the Accounting Manager, you will be responsible for managing various aspects of the accounting functions and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data. This is a key role within our organization, and we offer a competitive salary based on experience.

Responsibilities:
• Oversee daily, monthly, and annual accounting functions and transactions, including managing accounting software, payroll, cash receipts, payments, and accounting for financial assets and debts.
• Prepare and review financial reports for auditing requests and Board of Director meetings.
• Establish and maintain internal controls to ensure effective and efficient operations, reliable financial reporting, and compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
• Play a vital role in the life-cycle of projects, performing advanced and specialized accounting assignments involving complex and confidential data.
• Manage and ensure timely and accurate recording of accounting transactions.
• Coordinate the month-end close process, including journal entry review, reconciliation review, financial reporting, and compliance.
• Review and approve payroll, including retirement plan contributions and tax documents preparation.
• Monitor and maintain balance sheet reconciliations, inventory reporting, and depreciation schedules.
• Maintain accounting controls, improve and document accounting policies and procedures.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local government agencies for financial reporting, annual reports, and taxes.
• Collaborate closely with the Controller on NSF audits, rate agreements, and cash management.
• Manage corporate banking and administrative services, including accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.
• Serve as a back-up to the Controller and assist in system improvements and financial analysis.
• Provide leadership and supervision to assigned accounting staff, including hiring, performance appraisal, and development.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience in accounting or related field.
• Minimum of seven (7) years of progressive accounting experience, including three (3) years in a supervisory role.
• Strong experience with CostPoint accounting software is a must.
• Proficiency in SAP Concur software.
• Familiarity with GAAP principles and OMB Circulars.
• Experience in government contracting or grant environment.
• Excellent knowledge of advanced accounting and budgeting principles.
• Ability to manage internal accounts, develop new processes, and implement internal controls.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and take initiative.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Detail-oriented with solid understanding of accounting concepts.
• Proficiency in MS Office, Google Suites, and accounting database systems.
• CPA certification and experience in project accounting preferred.
