Minimum Requirements:
To be eligible for this position, applicants must meet all state and local requirements, including:
• Valid Minnesota Tier 3 or Tier 4 teaching license with appropriate Special Education endorsement(s) (e.g., ABS, EBD, ASD, SLD)
• Bachelor's degree or higher in Special Education or related field
• Completion of student teaching or practicum in a special education setting
• Successful completion of required background checks and fingerprinting, as mandated by the Minnesota Department of Education
Typical Responsibilities:
• Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to each student’s needs
• Provide direct instruction and support in academic, behavioral, and social skills
• Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, and families
• Monitor and document student progress and adjust instruction accordingly
• Participate in IEP meetings, multidisciplinary team meetings, and parent conferences
• Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations related to special education
• Foster an inclusive, supportive, and respectful classroom environment
