Role: Full Stack Java Developer
Location: NYC, Hybrid onsite

Role Overview:
Our client is seeking a Full Stack Java Developer to support and modernize a core Java platform that underpins frontâoffice trading and capital markets functions. This role is part of a highly technical delivery team focused on uplisting, remediation, and modernization of a mature Java environment within a regulated, highâavailability financial services context.
This is a handsâon engineering role for someone who enjoys working close to the code, understands production systems, and is comfortable navigating the controls, governance, and rigor that come with investment banking technology.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and enhance Javaâbased applications supporting frontâoffice trading and capital markets workflows
Contribute to application modernization and uplift initiatives, including refactoring legacy components and improving performance, stability, and scalability
Collaborate with other engineers, QA, and stakeholders to deliver highâquality solutions in a teamâbased Agile environment
Support productionâoriented development, including troubleshooting, defect resolution, and remediation work
Ensure solutions align with security, compliance, and regulatory standards common to global financial institutions
Document technical designs and actively participate in code reviews and knowledge sharing
Required Qualifications
Strong handsâon Java development experience (backendâleaning full stack)
Proven ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team
Experience developing in enterprise or regulated environments (financial services strongly preferred)
Comfortable working on complex, existing codebases rather than greenfield only
Strong verbal and written communication skills; fluent English required
Preferred / NiceâtoâHave Experience
Exposure to Fixed Income or Capital Markets technology (trading, risk, market data, postâtrade, etc.)
Experience with common Santanderâadjacent stacks such as:
Spring / Spring Boot
RESTful services and APIâbased architectures
SQL and relational databases
Frontâend exposure (e.g., Angular, React, or similar)
CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, Gitâbased workflows)
Cloud exposure (AWS or similar environments)
Familiarity or curiosity around AIâassisted development, automation, or analytics
Spanish language skills (nice to have, not required)
