Full Stack Developer (PHP, MySQL, SASS, JavaScript) – Long-Term Opportunity

We’re seeking an experienced Full Stack Developer to help with a series of website projects built on our existing framework. The initial engagement will focus on one or two websites, with the ideal candidate moving into a long-term, part-time role, and potentially a full-time position as we expand our portfolio. Our current stack includes pure CSS/SASS, JavaScript, PHP, and MySQLi. The right developer will be able to work efficiently within this environment, write clean and optimized code, and help evolve our framework over time using modern best practices. The first project will begin early next week, so timely availability and fast turnaround will be important for this initial engagement. Responsibilities: • Develop and maintain websites within our existing PHP/MySQLi framework. • Write clean, semantic, and efficient SASS/CSS for responsive, mobile-friendly layouts. • Integrate database-driven functionality using PHP and MySQLi. • Set up, modify, and optimize MySQL databases for performance and scalability. • Leverage AI-assisted development tools to expedite production and reduce cost. • Optimize images, assets, and code for fast, SEO-friendly loading and top Core Web Vitals performance. • Collaborate on front-end/UI improvements and overall website performance. • Communicate clearly in English with our internal team. • Provide time and cost estimates for project deliverables (after reviewing project details). • (Optional) Perform basic photo editing as needed for web content. Requirements: • Proven experience as a Full Stack Developer (3+ years preferred). • Strong proficiency in PHP and MySQLi. • Advanced understanding of SASS/CSS and clean, maintainable front-end development. • Solid working knowledge of JavaScript (vanilla). • Experience optimizing websites for speed, SEO, and performance. • Ability to use AI tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, or similar) to improve workflow and efficiency. • Excellent written and verbal communication in English. • Detail-oriented, organized, and able to deliver within deadlines. ⸻ Preferred (Not Required): • Familiarity with React, Node.js, or other modern frameworks. • Understanding of API integrations and server-side optimization. • Ability to recommend modernization strategies for legacy frameworks. • Skills in photo editing or light graphic adjustments (helpful, but not required).
