Reaktor’s Defence & Security Unit is looking for Software Engineers to join us in Helsinki.Join Reaktor’s DefSec team, where agility, teamwork, and trust drive everything we do. We work on some of the most complex, unique and mission-critical challenges in the industry, helping clients navigate an evolving landscape with cutting-edge solutions.As a Software Engineer at Reaktor, your job is to be an expert in a range of software development responsibilities spanning the entire software development lifecycle, from front-end to production. Your daily tasks include:Working together with the client’s technology and business teams and helping them pick the right technologies suitable for their needsImplementing new features that require changes to front-end applications, back-end servers, and/or databases, even on infrastructureDelivering the client and the team with world-class technical expertiseOther software development-related tasks, such as debugging, designing, and participating in creating the architectureYou are a curious-minded developer who is comfortable working on both the back-end and front-end of an app and understands the role of infrastructure in everyday tasks.To thrive in this position, you’ll need: Experience in a broad range of software development modalities (Back End, Front End, DevOps, and consulting skills)Several years of experience. We don’t have a hard limit with years of experience, but we’ve noticed that these competencies usually take several years to accumulate Previous experience with at least one common server-side programming language. Currently, many of our projects are built with TypeScript/JavaScript and Node.js. But Java/Scala and Python are also usedStrong knowledge of at least one common client-side language and framework. We often use TypeScript/JavaScript and React on our web app projects Relevant skills to create new back-end services and build CI/CD pipelines when the project requiresFoundational knowledge in DevOps, including Continuous Integration (CI), automated deployment, and test automationKnow-how on databases (e.g. PostgreSQL)To be comfortable engaging with the client stakeholders when neededFluency in both Finnish and English (written & spoken)Willingness to work 100% onsite This role requires Finnish citizenship due to client and security regulations.
