Role Snapshot Company: Ryder Compensation: Competitive salary with average weekly pay of $838.80 and hourly pay of $20.97 Start Date: Immediate openings available Position: Fuel Attendant Technician Entry Level Location: Romeoville, Illinois Responsibilities As a Fuel Attendant Technician Entry Level, you will be responsible for: Fueling vehicles and maintaining proper fuel and DEF inventories and reconciliation Washing and detailing vehicles, including moving heavy-duty vehicles Performing multi-point inspections on inbound units as required by company policies and procedures Checking tire pressure and reporting service issues to the shop Maintaining the fuel island area to Six Sigma standards and policies Performing some facility maintenance and minor maintenance tasks as assigned by the supervisor Changing tires and inspecting refrigeration units on trucks Emptying trash and performing other duties as assigned Requirements To be successful in this role, you will need: High school diploma or GED equivalent Up to one (1) year of experience (no experience required) Proficiency in English written and verbal communication skills Demonstrated customer service skills Understanding of computer hardware and software, especially word processing, spreadsheets, and email Basic computer skills and ability to perform data entry Must be 18 years of age or older High degree of thoroughness and dependability Ability to work flexible schedules, including shift work, weekends, and holidays Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) CLASS A preferred Safety Sensitive Position This position requires: Ability to obtain CDL within 6 months after hire Pass a Ryder Drug Test Pass a DOT physical Pass a Ryder road test Pass a Ryder Background and Motor vehicle check, including Drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years What We Offer At Ryder, we offer: Competitive salary with average weekly pay of $838.80 and hourly pay of $20.97 On-the-job paid training PPE and uniforms issued Boot allowance provided State-of-the-art equipment Safety is always the first priority Unlimited bonuses for hired service employees Opportunities for career growth and development Work Environment and Company Culture At Ryder, we pride ourselves on our company culture, which values: Safety Customer service Excellence Diversity, equity, and inclusion Teamwork and collaboration Our work environment is fast-paced and dynamic, with a focus on innovation and continuous improvement.
