Job Title: Freight Dispatcher / Intermodal Operations & Business Development Location: Houston, TX Employment Type: Full-Time About the Role: We are looking for a motivated Freight Dispatcher with intermodal operations and sales experience to help expand our business in the Houston area. This position combines dispatch coordination with business development, focusing on building customer relationships, securing new freight, and managing daily container movements from ports and rail yards. Key Responsibilities: • Identify and develop new intermodal freight customers in the Houston and Gulf region. • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients, brokers, and carriers. • Coordinate and dispatch daily intermodal loads to company drivers and owner-operators. • Manage pick-ups and deliveries from Houston ports and rail terminals. • Track and update container status, chassis assignment, and empty returns. • Negotiate rates with customers and carriers to ensure profitable operations. • Ensure compliance with DOT and company safety standards. • Provide excellent communication and customer service to ensure timely load completion. Qualifications: • 2+ years of experience in intermodal dispatching and/or freight brokerage. • Strong understanding of Houston port and rail systems (Barbours Cut, Bayport, UP, BNSF, etc.). • Proven ability to generate business and close freight deals. • Excellent communication and negotiation skills. • Proficiency with TMS or dispatch software. • Highly organized, self-motivated, and goal-driven.
