Home Careers Freelance Writer/Contributor Job Description Location: Remote/Los Angeles, CA Type: Part Time Writers are at the heart of the HICONSUMPTION engine, and we’re looking for freelance writers to regularly contribute enthusiast-driven daily product coverage, long form hands-on reviews, and buyer’s guides. You’ll get the opportunity to get hands-on with some of the greatest gear on the market, uncovering and sharing what makes these products tick through the HICONSUMPTION lens. Note: We’re only looking for enthusiasts in specific verticals (outlined below) – people who live and breathe this stuff and are deeply immersed in the culture. Desired Verticals • Watches • Everyday Carry (EDC) Gear • Tech/Gadgets • Motoring (Automotive/Motorcycles) • Style Responsibilities • Daily production of gear content which includes product reviews, brand stories, snapshot coverage, features and in-depth buyer’s guides • Writing/editing scripts for our video reviews (YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, etc.) • Pitching and writing engaging content that is designed to be digested and shared in a world consumed by social media • Copy editing and fact checking Requirements • Passion for well-designed, well-built gear – above all else • Excellent grammar skills with a diverse vocabulary and proficient at spelling • The ability to perform in-depth research on vertical expertise • True enthusiast (or expert) within desired vertical – immersed in the culture • Self starter who’s comfortable tackling tasks with minimal oversight • Strong interpersonal skills, comfortable receiving constructive criticism • Loves working in a team environment, but comfortable working independently • Must meet deadlines and have strong prioritization & time management skills • Experience multitasking and tracking several projects simultaneously • Witty and quick to develop enticing article headlines • Strong attention to detail • Previous review writing/editorial experience is required How To Apply Please send your resume, cover letter, and LinkedIn profile link to [email protected] with the subject heading: “Freelance Writer.” Your email should also include: • A brief introduction of yourself and why you’re a great fit for HICONSUMPTION • A quick background of your vertical expertise (watches, everyday carry gear, etc) • Links to writing samples on a topic HICONSUMPTION would cover Apply tot his job
