Freelance Senior UI Designer

We're seeking a talented freelance Senior UI Designer to take over an existing project and transform our web application into exceptional mobile experiences for iOS and Android. Working remotely with availability during Asian business hours, you'll adapt our current web-based product into native mobile designs that feel intuitive and purpose-built for smaller screens and touch interactions. You'll own the visual design system for mobile platforms, working within existing brand guidelines while establishing new mobile-specific patterns, components, and interactions. Collaborating closely with product managers, UX researchers, and engineering teams across time zones, you'll create high-fidelity mockups and prototypes that translate complex web functionality into streamlined mobile experiences, ensuring pixel-perfect implementation across devices.
The ideal candidate brings 5+ years of UI design experience with a strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in responsive and mobile-first design, particularly translating web applications to mobile platforms.
You have expert-level proficiency in Figma, including advanced features like auto-layout, variants, and component libraries, and deep knowledge of iOS and Android design systems.
You must be available for collaboration during Asian time zones and comfortable jumping into an existing project, understanding current design decisions, and evolving them for mobile contexts.
You balance aesthetic excellence with usability, can advocate for design decisions with data and rationale, and thrive working independently in a remote environment with async communication.
Experience building and maintaining scalable design systems, accessibility standards, and working in agile development cycles is essential.
