Freelance Public Relations Assistant (Remote)
Position Overview
The Blake Agency is seeking a detail-oriented Public Relations Assistant to support client accounts and the daily operations of the agency. We specialize in strategic planning, public relations, media relations, and content marketing, creating results-driven campaigns for nonprofits, tech startups, and lifestyle brands.
This remote, part-time, freelance position is ideal for someone with a strong interest in media relations and content development who thrives in a flexible, entrepreneurial environment. You will contribute to press outreach, social media management, research projects, and client communications, helping deliver high-quality work that drives measurable results.
Minimum Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or related field
• Previous internship or professional experience in PR, communications, or marketing
• Strong writing, proofreading, and verbal communication skills
• Excellent time management and organizational skills; able to work independently and collaboratively
• Comfortable using technology and learning new tools quickly
• Familiarity with AI-powered tools and prompts for content ideation and research
• Preferred: Experience with Buffer, Canva, Asana, Prowly, or CoverageBook
Responsibilities / Role
• Draft and proofread press releases, media pitches, blog posts, and other content
• Build and maintain targeted media lists using online databases
• Research speaking engagement opportunities and award nominations for clients
• Track and compile media coverage into reports
• Manage and schedule social media content calendars using management platforms
• Perform administrative tasks such as coordinating meetings, maintaining organized online files, and preparing client updates
• Attend virtual client meetings as needed
