Freelance Illustrator
Overview
This role offers an exciting opportunity for a creative graphic designer or illustrator to collaborate on the launch of a bespoke product range inspired by the unique character of Lytham St. Annes. The focus is on developing clean, classic, and neutral-toned designs that capture the essence of the seaside town, with some pieces featuring local landmarks. The initial product line includes journals, writing sets, and hand soaps, with plans to expand into items such as totes, tea towels, and candles.
The ideal candidate will have a strong sense of style suited to a middle-aged, middle-class audience, and will be able to translate both provided concepts and their own creative ideas into high-end, timeless designs.
Responsibilities
• Create original graphic and illustrative designs for a range of home, garden, paper, and textile products
• Develop artwork that incorporates local landmarks and reflects the classic, bespoke aesthetic required
• Collaborate closely to refine concepts and adapt designs based on feedback
• Prepare print-ready files suitable for various product types and manufacturing processes
• Contribute creative input for future product expansions, ensuring consistency in style and quality
Requirements
• Proven experience in graphic design and illustration, ideally with a portfolio showcasing classic and neutral-toned work
• Strong proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) or equivalent design tools
• Ability to interpret and enhance client ideas, offering creative solutions and options
• Understanding of print production processes for paper, textile, and packaging products
• Excellent communication skills and responsiveness in a remote working environment
