Freelance Business Development & Management Consultant to Help Scale Small Consulting Firm

Description: I run a small consulting firm that works with private schools—helping them with management and compliance under the Child Nutrition Program (CNP), specifically the National School Lunch Program (NSLP). I’m looking for a skilled and experienced Business Development and Management Consultant who can help me strengthen internal operations, implement efficient structures, and create a sustainable plan for growth. This role is ideal for someone who has successfully helped small professional services firms or consultancies scale from a single-person office to a structured, multi-person team with defined workflows and processes. Project Goals: • Evaluate current workflows and identify areas of inefficiency. • Design and implement scalable business processes and documentation. • Develop an organizational structure suitable for team-based growth. • Provide hands-on coaching on delegation, workflow management, and performance oversight. • Guide the transition from a one-person operation into a structured small business. • Support business development strategies — lead generation, scaling services, and operational capacity-building. Ideal Consultant Profile: • Proven background in business operations, organizational development, or management consulting. • Demonstrated success helping small businesses build systems, teams, and growth strategies. • Strong process design and standard operating procedure (SOP) development skills. • Excellent communication, organizational coaching, and implementation abilities. • Familiarity with service-based businesses and/or education, compliance, or nonprofit sectors (preferred).
