Fractional Operations Manager (Startup / SME)
About the Business: I run two small but growing businesses in Malaysia: 1. A hydroponic vegetable farm (daily operations, staff routines, production tracking) 2. A boutique property development project (light operations, admin, vendor coordination) Both businesses are operational but currently highly founder-dependent. I’m looking for someone to help turn day-to-day operations into clear, documented, repeatable systems. The Role (What You Will Actually Do)Your role is to help externalise operations from the founder’s head into simple, usable systems that others can follow.You will: - Document existing workflows into clear SOPs - Create checklists, logs, trackers, and basic dashboards - Help stabilise daily and weekly operating routines - Define simple escalation rules (what to do when things go wrong) - Reduce reliance on the founder for recurring decisions - Organise information so tasks don’t fall through the cracks You’ll be working directly with the founder, often starting with messy or incomplete information. Scope of Work (Very Clear) ✅ In Scope - SOP documentation (farm operations, admin, basic business ops) - Daily / weekly checklists - Logs and trackers (bolthires Sheets / Docs is fine) - Escalation rules and handover notes - File and information structure Founder handover: identifying tasks that no longer need founder involvement Ideal BackgroundThis role is a good fit if you have experience in: - Startup or SME operations - Operations management or coordination - Process documentation - Turning unstructured work into clear systems You should be: - Comfortable with ambiguity - Practical and execution-focused - Able to work independently - Clear and structured in writing (This role may suit experienced Operations Managers or ex-COO profiles who enjoy hands-on system building Apply tot his job
