Fractional Controller - Remote, Part-Time

Charles River CFO, Inc. is searching for a Fractional Controller located in or near Boston, MA. The ideal candidate will be a CPA, and be available to start immediately at a part-time capacity of 0-20 hours per week.

Location: (Required): Boston, MA

Work Setting: Remote

Anticipated Start Date: Week of March 24, 2025

The Controller will oversee AR, AP and General Accounting. Immediate need to assist VP Finance with year-end bonuses, growth strategies and day-to-day accounting.

Experience & Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
  


• Background in Life Sciences and in the Public Sector


• CPA required.


• Familiar with SEC Reporting


• Minimum of 10 years’ of experience in Finance/Accounting


• Proficient with Microsoft Office and advanced knowledge of Excel


• Experience in QuickBooks is required and a variety of systems is preferred


• Tech-Savvy, comfortable learning new cloud tools


• Experience using payroll, expense reimbursement and bill pay systems


• Understanding of GAAP accounting


• Working knowledge of tax filings such as 1099s and sales tax forms


• Excellent communication skills


• Detail oriented and highly organized


• Commitment to providing excellent client service


• Ability to analyze complex situations, identify critical issues, and solve problems 

Compensation for this role is $65-$75 hourly
