Fractional CMO — Vendor Coverage & GTM for B2B Marketplace

We’re launching Honex.com as a live beta in late January and are looking for a hands-on GTM lead / fractional CMO to own the initial rollout. This is an operator-led launch. The priority is building vendor coverage that actually works in the real world, not chasing traffic or hype. Honex coordinates temporary site services, including temporary fencing, portable restrooms, mobile offices, dumpsters/roll-offs, and storage containers. We are starting in WA, OR, and ID, with expansion planned into UT, CO, CA, and AZ. Core Focus (Non-Negotiable) Vendor coverage comes first. Vendors must be onboarded, operational, and reliable before demand is scaled. GC outreach runs in parallel, but only through controlled, low-volume outbound email to build awareness and set expectations. We will not ramp demand ahead of supply. This role requires judgment, sequencing discipline, and comfort saying no early. Key Responsibilities Vendor GTM & Coverage Define vendor onboarding priorities by service type, geography, and operator profile Focus on reliability and responsiveness, not just signups Build depth in a region before expanding geographically Vendor Messaging Position Honex around pricing control, fewer quote back-and-forths, and clean workflow fit Avoid “lead-gen” framing; this is infrastructure, not marketing fluff Sequencing & Rollout Vendors → GC awareness → selective bid participation Establish clear rules for when GC requests should be declined due to coverage gaps GC Outreach (Parallel, Controlled) Email-led outreach to PMs and estimators Emphasis on pre-bid context and mobilization clarity, not aggressive selling Metrics & Feedback Track coverage density, vendor response times, and bid accuracy Use real-world feedback to refine onboarding, messaging, and rollout order SEO and AI tools are inputs — operations and sequencing drive this launch. What We’re Looking For Fractional or part-time CMO / GTM leadership experience B2B marketplace or services-based platform background Comfort working in early-stage, imperfect environments Strong strategic judgment paired with hands-on execution This is a fractional, part-time leadership role, not a task-based marketing project.
