Founding Full-Stack Engineer (MERN / React Native) Location: United States (Remote) Engagement: Equity-only engagement for an initial 3–6 month period with potential to transition to cash Time Commitment: Full-time focus required Company: Venue Platform This is an equity only role initially. About Venue Venue is a real-time, map-based community platform designed for physical communities—starting with colleges and universities. The platform connects events, places, and people through geofenced feeds and interactive maps. We are in active discussions with colleges interested in testing the platform and are preparing for controlled pilot deployments. The Opportunity We are seeking a senior, execution-focused engineer based in the United States to work closely with the founder during a critical refinement phase of the product. The core system and applications exist. At this stage, we have identified: • Application errors that require resolution • Feature gaps that must be completed • Substantial UI/UX corrections and improvements needed prior to pilot usage This role requires full-time focus and is particularly well suited to someone between roles who wants to apply their experience to a high-impact product at a pivotal moment. What You’ll Work On • React Native (iOS & Android) application improvements • MERN stack backend (Node/Express, MongoDB) • Debugging, error resolution, and stability improvements • Completing scoped feature implementations • Implementing UI/UX corrections based on existing direction and feedback • Preparing the platform for limited pilot usage with early partners What We’re Looking For • Minimum 5–8 years of hands-on experience specifically with the MERN stack and React Native • Demonstrated experience improving and stabilizing existing production codebases • Strong debugging and problem-solving skills across frontend and backend • UI-aware engineer who understands product polish and usability • Able to commit full-time focus for the duration of the engagement • Clear communicator who can work independently and responsibly Engagement & Compensation • Equity-only engagement for an initial 3–6 month period • Intended to bridge the platform through pilot readiness • Cash compensation combined with equity is anticipated following a successful fundraise, subject to timing and mutual fit • Opportunity to continue in a senior or lead capacity post-pilots What This Role Is Not • Not greenfield development • Not a part-time or side-project role • Not an idea-stage startup How to Apply Apply via LinkedIn and complete the short screening questions.
