Flutter Developer (VS Code + Cline) | Wellness iOS App
Overview
We are a mental health and mindfulness app at an exciting transition point. We've built our core prototype in FlutterFlow and are now moving to production-grade development in VS Code using Cline (AI-assisted coding). We're looking for a skilled Flutter/Dart developer to take ownership of this next phase and grow with us long term.
This is a fixed-price, milestone-based engagement with strong potential for an ongoing relationship. The right person is technically sharp, communicates clearly with a non-technical founder, and sees AI-assisted development as a natural part of their workflow.
What the App Is
A mental health and mindfulness iOS app currently in TestFlight with a Firebase backend. Core screens are built, and the app is being actively tested. We have a clear product vision and are ready to move from prototype to production-grade development.
What You'll Be Doing
Your first work will involve getting oriented in the codebase — the app has been exported from FlutterFlow to GitHub, and you'll be setting up your local VS Code environment with Cline to continue development from there. From that point forward, ongoing work will come to you as clearly written spec documents describing exactly what needs to be built or fixed, written in developer-friendly language with acceptance criteria. You implement, test, and push builds to TestFlight for founder review. We'll collaborate through a shared project workspace and keep communication clean and async-friendly.
Must-Have Skills
- Strong Flutter/Dart — you write and debug Dart code fluently outside of visual tools
- Firebase — Firestore and Auth at minimum
- iOS deployment — Xcode, TestFlight, Apple developer ecosystem
- VS Code as your primary development environment
- Experience with AI coding assistants (Cline, Cursor, Copilot, or similar)
- Git/GitHub — clean habits, branching, pull requests
- Clear written English communication
