Fluids Integration Technician

Hermeus is an aerospace and defense technology company founded to radically accelerate air travel by delivering hypersonic aircraft. The company aims to develop hypersonic aircraft quickly and cost-effectively by integrating hardware-rich, iterative development with modern computing and autonomy. This approach has been validated through design, build, and test of the company’s first combined turbojet-ramjet engine and is now being scaled through its first flight vehicle program, Quarterhorse. Hermeus is also developing Darkhorse — an uncrewed hypersonic aircraft designed to deliver unique asymmetric capabilities to the warfighter. The Manufacturing Team at Hermeus are the boots on the ground. We have a vast array of experiences ranging from welding, additive, tube bending, machining, integration, and avionics. We are a lean team who are responsible for building a vehicle that will fly. We provide crucial design feedback to our engineering team and can rapidly iterate on design and assembly.As a Fluids Integration Technician, you’ll be responsible for assembling, installing, and testing complex fluid and electromechanical systems in support of flight and propulsion hardware. You will work hands-on with hydraulic tubing, mechanical sub-assemblies, and pressurized systems while collaborating closely with engineering and operations teams. This role is ideal for a highly skilled technician who thrives in fast-paced environments, is fluent in reading technical schematics, and is passionate about building and improving flight-critical systems. Responsibilities: Execute work orders, perform quality buyoffs, and manage hardware issuanceBuild and integrate mechanical and electrical sub-assembliesPerform functional qualification testing between assembliesUtilize mechanical hand and power tools with precisionMaintain, troubleshoot, and install fluid and electromechanical systems based on schematics and drawingsSupport hydraulic systems: fabricate tubing assemblies, conduct precision cleaning, and perform system testingPartner with engineering and leadership to implement process improvements that reduce cycle time and increase repeatabilityContribute to integrated pressurized ground operations and coordinated vehicle movementsAdapt quickly to shifting priorities in a fast-paced, hands-on development environment Minimum Requirements: 3+ years of experience in a startup or high-growth development environmentDirect experience in a flight or propulsion development programProven ability to transition hardware from prototype to productionStrong background with hydraulic systems and manufacturing fluids, including tube fabrication and precision fluid system prepAbility to interpret technical drawings and schematics to assemble and install mechanical/electromechanical componentsA&P license preferred, but not required Preferred Skills and Experience: Experience with aircraft structural assembly, including drilling, reaming, countersinking, and fastener installation per drawingsProficient in using precision tools (e.g., micrometers, calipers, depth gauges) and basic shop equipmentFamiliarity with systems integration, GSE operations, and component-level builds/tests (ATP, proofing, etc.)Ability to troubleshoot and redline issues in real-time, collaborating closely with engineersKnowledge of GD&T, Microsoft Office, and experience with CAD/CAM toolsA&P license preferred Experience with large structural lifts and rigging The salary information provided is a general guideline only.
