Deliver safe, exceptional events. Improve the underlying economics. Expand into new formats and experiences over time. The role:The General Manager, Events leads the Events division within FitLab, with Ragnar as the primary business today.This leader works closely with the FitLab leadership team to align on priorities, resources, and long-term direction, while driving day-to-day execution across the division.We are looking for someone who can operate at both levels, in the details of event execution and in building a scalable, repeatable model for growth. What you will do:Lead the Events division within FitLab, with Ragnar as the primary businessDrive high-quality, consistent execution across all eventsImprove event-level economics and overall division performanceHelp shape and execute the strategic roadmap for Events in partnership with the FitLab leadership teamDevelop new event formats, experiences, and revenue opportunities over timeDevelop and grow strategic partnerships and sponsorships that elevate the experience and improve event economicsBuild and lead a high-performing team across corporate and field operations Responsibilities:Set clear priorities, targets, and accountability across the Events divisionDevelop and execute short- and long-term plans aligned with FitLab objectivesOversee all event operations, ensuring safe, consistent, high-quality executionPartner cross-functionally with Product, Marketing, Finance, and TechnologyManage budgets, forecasting, and resource allocationBuild a strong, accountable, execution-focused cultureUse data and reporting to drive continuous improvementBuild relationships with partners, vendors, and key stakeholdersStructure and scale partnerships and sponsorships that align with the brand and improve event economicsIdentify risks early and implement solutions to protect execution and outcomesEstablish processes and systems that support scalable growthMaintain deep knowledge of the endurance and fitness events landscapeAct as the primary leader of Events within FitLab
Requirements
Proven experience in a senior leadership role with P&L ownershipStrong financial acumen across P&L, cash flow, and budgetingExperience developing and executing profitable strategies in events, experiential, or related businessesAbility to operate at both strategic and tactical levelsStrong cross-functional leadership and communication skillsExperience working across marketing, operations, finance, and related functionsEntrepreneurial mindset with strong organizational and leadership skillsProven ability to build and lead teams in execution-heavy environmentsStrong judgment, problem-solving ability, and decision-making skills Physical demands and work environment:As part of the Events team, the physical demands and work environment described here are representative of those required to perform the essential functions of this role. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these functions.You may be asked to work onsite at events as part of your role. When working onsite, there may be physical demands outside routine job functions. These include spending extended periods of time at large outdoor events, the safe operation of utility carts and box trucks, and the use of power and hand tools.Certain event activities may involve transporting equipment weighing up to 50 lbs, working in moderate to loud environments, and utilizing vision across a range of conditions, including close, distance, and peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Not all functions will be required in all situations, and reasonable accommodations will be made where appropriate. Travel Requirements: This role includes travel to events as part of onboarding and ongoing leadership of the Events division. At a minimum, this includes attendance at five events during the first season, across both road and trail formats. Each event may require approximately four days of travel, inclusive of onsite event support. Travel expectations are based on business needs and may evolve over time.
Salary Description
$175,000-$200,000 per year
