Key Responsibilities As a First Grade Teacher at St. Regis Catholic School, you will play a vital role in shaping the educational and spiritual journey of our students. Your responsibilities will include: Teaching all subjects, including English, mathematics, science, and social studies, utilizing the Archdiocese of Detroit curriculum, state benchmarks, and national standards. Creating and implementing engaging lesson plans that cater to diverse learning styles and needs. Establishing and maintaining a well-organized and respectful classroom environment that promotes active learning and student engagement. Assessing students' academic and social growth through various evaluation tools and providing constructive feedback. Communicating regularly with parents and guardians through clear and effective communication systems. Participating in professional learning teams, staff meetings, and committee meetings to contribute to the school's ongoing development. Maintaining accurate records, including attendance, grades, and student progress. Supervising students during non-instructional periods, such as recess, lunch, and bus duty. Requirements and Qualifications To be considered for this exciting opportunity, you will need: Essential Qualifications: A valid Michigan Teaching Certificate, K-5 All Subjects. Endorsements in ZN, ZO, ZA, or ZS are preferred. Experience with Handwriting without Tears and Phonics First curriculum is desirable. A strong demonstration of Catholic Christian faith and a willingness to witness this faith through personal example. Catechist certification (or a willingness to attain certification). Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Microsoft 365 platform and virtual learning platforms. Established classroom management techniques. Proficiency in using technology to strengthen the teaching/learning process, including iPads, Chromebooks, smart boards, and online instructional platforms.
