Empowering you to contribute to both finance and technology initiatives while gaining hands-on experience in building and supporting innovative fintech solutions. JOB SUMMARY : As a Fintech intern, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the efficient operation and successful execution of Fintech and Partnership Banking initiatives. This internship offers hand-on experience across fintech partnerships, compliance, risk management, operations, legal, and data analytics within a dynamic financial services environment. The ideal candidate is creative, analytical, organized, and eager to learn how aligned Fintech and Partnership Banking activities support business growth. RESPONSIBILITIES Onboarding Support: Assist in due diligence and onboarding of all new fintech partnership opportunities including compiling and indexing submitted documents and ensuring complete documents packages are submitted for compliance and legal review. Cross-Functional Support: Engage with a variety of shared service functions to ensure that the day-to-day operations of the fintech team run smoothly. This includes following up on any outstanding projects or initiatives with any relevant internal partners in the Bank. Project Management: With guidance from fintech leadership, coordinate and oversee fintech projects, and initiatives from conception to execution—ensuring alignment with strategic objectives. Develop timelines and utilize project trackers to drive progress, resolve issues, and deliver results on time and within scope. Fintech Data Support: Help gather, coordinate, and analyze fintech data and performance metrics. Track partner performance and identify trends. Provide insights to support decision-making and spot potential risks. REQUIREMENTS Occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 lbs. Literacy in English. Ability to sit for extended periods of time, twist, bend, sit, walk use hands to twist, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls, such as computer mouse, computer keyboard, calculator, stapler, telephone, staple puller, etc., reach with hands and arms, balance, stoop, kneel, talk, or hear. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. QUALIFICATIONS Working towards a Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in Finance, or Business-Related; or one-year related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Strong oral/written communication skills. Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task. Strong digital literacy. Diligent. Adaptable and responsive. INTERNSHIP STRUCTURE: Length: Internships are scheduled to run for 12 weeks. When feasible, Stearns will work to accommodate the needs of your scheduling requirements (should an internship be required or recommended for college graduation). Hours: 40 hours per week expectation. Specific requests for hour modifications will be considered. Managers will have bi-weekly one-on-ones with interns, meet mid-point for a formal review, and provide an evaluation during the last week of the internship. HR will meet with intern at 30- & 90-day marks for a stay interview. Interns will be expected to complete paperwork and training upon the start of their internship. Interns will be assigned a mentor to support them through the program. Participation in Internship Program does not constitute full time offer of employment upon completion of internship. With positive performance and a business need for a full-time role, Interns may be eligible for full time positions upon completion of their internship. BENEFITS: Pro-rated paid time off, sick-leave time, and paid volunteer time, based on the duration of the Internship. Holiday pay should there be any holidays/floating holidays fall during internship timeframe. Medical, dental, life, vision, FSA/HSA, short-term, and long-term disability benefits will follow full time eligibility timeframe requirements. 401(k)/ESOP benefits will follow full time eligibility timeframe requirements.
