Financial Operations Associate

They are seeking a Financial Operations Associate to support their IT organization by managing financial operations related to budgeting, forecasting, and reporting for IT expenses.ResponsibilitiesSupport budgeting, forecasting, analysis, and reporting for IT operating and capital expensesOversee the IT capital plan and process monthly fixed asset templates and related reportsManage the prepaid sub-ledger and prepare monthly prepaid amortization entriesPrepare monthly accruals for assigned cost centers and areas of responsibilitySupport hardware and software purchases and renewals, including purchase order and invoice processingComplete monthly expense reports and provide analytics for hardware, software, and third-party servicesIdentify trends in IT spend, analyze underlying drivers, and highlight opportunities to improve efficiencyPrepare ad hoc financial analyses to support key strategic initiatives and leadership decision-makingAssist with annual budget and periodic forecast preparation for IT-related areasCollaborate with IT and other business partners to ensure accurate, timely, and transparent financial informationSkillsBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent experience1-2 years of experience in financial analysis, accounting, expense reporting, or budgetingWorking knowledge of capital planning and fixed asset accounting conceptsAbility to amortize expenses and manage prepaid items accuratelyStrong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, SUMIF, and working with large data setsComfort investigating variances, asking follow‑up questions, and driving issues to resolutionStrong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain financial concepts to non‑financial stakeholdersAbility to create clear, visual, and actionable financial reporting and analyticsStrong attention to detail, organization, and time managementCollaborative mindset with the ability to build effective working relationships across Finance, IT, and other teamsMaster of Business Administration (MBA) or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is a plusIT support experience is a plusBenefitsComprehensive health, dental and vision insuranceMental health benefitsEmployee assistance programPaid time offPaid parental leaveShort-term disabilityCultural observance dayContributions to healthcare accountsPension plan401(k) plan with Company matchingProHealth RewardsCompany OverviewProtective is a holding company, whose subsidiaries provide financial services It was founded in 1907, and is headquartered in Birmingham, Alabama, USA, with a workforce of 1001-5000 employees.
