About the position Home Alliance is a fast-growing, multi-unit home services platform operating across HVAC, appliance repair, plumbing, electrical, cleaning, and membership services. Our finance systems are established — we are now focused on optimizing, strengthening, and scaling them. Role Summary This Controller role focuses on improving an existing finance operation — not building from scratch. You will enhance controls, cash discipline, reporting quality, and operational efficiency across a multi-entity environment, with a clear path toward CFO responsibilities. Responsibilities • Optimize AR, AP, Payroll, and Accounting Operations: Streamline processes to ensure smooth, efficient operations across multiple entities. • Strengthen Internal Controls and Cash Governance: Implement stronger financial controls, improve approval workflows, and enforce segregation of duties to maintain integrity. • Oversee Month-End Close and Multi-Entity Reporting: Manage and refine the month-end close cycle, including reconciliations and allocations across multiple business units, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting. • Partner with Business Leaders, FP&A, COO, and CFO: Collaborate with leadership to provide insights and financial clarity, supporting decision-making across various units. • Lead and Develop Finance Operations Team: Manage a lean, high-performance team responsible for AR, AP, payroll, and accounting. Foster a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence. Requirements • Fluent in Russian & English: Strong communication skills in both languages. • In-Depth Knowledge of US GAAP: Expertise in Generally Accepted Accounting Principles specific to the US market. • 7+ Years in Controllership / Finance Operations: Proven experience in progressively responsible roles within finance, particularly in multi-entity organizations. • Experience Working in the US: Practical experience in a US-based financial environment. • Experience in Multi-Entity, $10M+ Revenue Organizations: Experience handling complex financial operations in large-scale organizations. • Service-Based or Operations-Heavy Business Background: Previous work in service-based or operations-heavy industries is preferred.
