Financial Analyst for Monthly Accounting Close Support and Expense Model Management
We are seeking a detail-oriented financial analyst to assist with regular budget and expense analysis and support our monthly accounting close processes. The ideal candidate will help ensure accuracy in financial reporting, analyze financial data, and provide insights to improve our financial health. This role requires strong analytical skills and a solid understanding of accounting principles.
Responsibilities:
- Month-End Close & Expense Reporting - review monthly expenses and accruals alongside Accounting partners to align on monthly costs
- Budget vs Actuals (BvA) Analysis & Stakeholder Communication - Produce regular variance reporting and engage with departmental budget owners on spend pacing and budget adherence
- Forecasting & Financial Modeling - Maintain and refresh key components of various financial models based on actuals-driven impacts and outlook revisions
Qualifications:
- Financial modeling skills (Excel/Google Sheets) and comfort working with complex planning models
- Experience supporting monthly close, accrual review, and expense reconciliation processes
- Ability to synthesize data into clear variance explanations and executive-ready commentary
- High attention to detail and ability to manage recurring monthly deliverables on deadline
Work volume will be cyclical throughout the month and should total roughly 50 hours per month with a heavier concentration in the third week of each month.
