The Field Service Engineer II is responsible for managing all aspects of field service support and customer relationship management including but not limited to: installation, repair, preventative maintenance, and instrument qualification. The Engineer II, Field Service will be customer oriented, an advocate for Thermo Fisher Scientific, and eager to drive growth.How You Will Make an Impact: Field Service Engineers provide technical support and assistance, ensuring the efficient performance of equipment and systems. You will work directly with customers to address their needs, ensuring customer satisfaction and product efficiency.Key Responsibilities:Carry out Installation, maintenance and training of Chromatography and Mass Spectrometry product in a professional, reliable, and customer-orientated mannerResponsibility for meeting customer SLA and internal KPI objectivesEnsuring customer satisfaction in all aspects of services providedShare experience and standard approach of product services and applications with colleagues. Contribute to knowledge base to allow continued improvement of work efficiency and effectivenessAssist the Commercial Team with technical information, training, and demonstrationsAccurately document field service activities, including installation report and service work report, and timely submit through the required systemMinimum Education & ExperienceBachelor's degree in analytical chemistry, chemical engineering, or equivalentPreferred hands-on experience as a field service engineer or scientist/chemist in a lab setting supporting Chromatography (liquid/gas/ion) and Mass Spectrometry equipment systems at various customer labs2+ years of experience with Chromatography (liquid/gas/ion) and Mass Spectrometry equipment systems, e.g. installation, preventative maintenance, fixing, operation, etc.)Knowledge, Skills, AbilitiesAnalytical troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.Interest in technology and IT trends.Knowledge of electron microscopes is an advantage.Physical Requirements / Work Environment Must be available to travel on a daily and up to 50% overnight within territory (New York City, NJ, PA)Able to lift 40 lbs.Able to stand for long periods of timeAble to work overtimeValid Driver's License Required, and be able to travel into DOE, DOD, and National LaboratoriesAble to successfully pass federal background checksBenefitsWe offer competitive remuneration, annual incentive plan bonus, healthcare, and a range of employee benefits.
