The applicant should reside in the Keota/Washington geographical region, be within driving distance, or be willing to relocate to service the region. Summary of Position JBS Live Pork, LLC has an opportunity available for a Remote Field Manager in the Southeast Iowa reporting to Jacob Schulte, Live Pork Production Manager. This position will work directly with a designated group of contract pork producers to assist them in trouble shooting problem areas and provide solutions for improving production. Will also help manage customer relationships as well as provide documentation of on farm reports. You will work with your Business Manager to arrive at solutions and make decisions that will impact your area and your business unit profitability. Through farm visits, producer meetings and information sharing, you will aid the producers in finding the most successful ways of maximizing production on their farm. A field manager manages 20-25 producer sites consisting of 50,000-100,000 pig spaces. In addition, the field manager helps manage the producer relationship and assist in contract renewals. Approximately 5-10 million dollars of pig inventory is a typical field manager's area. Essential Responsibilities:40% - Pork Producer Training20% - Auditing Facility and Environmental compliance and work to help producer meet compliance by offering solutions20% - Assist producers in Property Marketing's Animals20% - Administrative duties - pig conformance's, feed budgets, closeout process, etc.80%-day travel required, occasional overnight travel. Coaching, training, and developing new farm managersAnimal Welfare and environmental compliance by offering solutionsMedication/vet orderingBio-Security compliance and action planningAssists in controlling costs associated with feed, supplies, and laborMaintains accurate number integrity for record keepingCoordinates and oversees completion of special projectsMakes recommendations for operational improvements Any other duties assigned by the Production Manager Required Qualifications:Relocation to the Southeast Iowa Region or be withing driving distance of the farms. BS/BA degree in Agriculture, related field, and 3 years swine experience, OR, in lieu of a BS/BA degree in Agriculture, 5 years’ experience in a leadership position working with live swine Computer knowledge in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook 80%-day travel required, occasional overnight travel. Ability to motivate and inspire people to achieve high goalsPossess Problem Solving TechniquesDemonstrates knowledge of overall business strategy and operationsPossesses proficiency in spreadsheet, database, word processing softwareDemonstrates written and verbal communication skillsExceptional organizational and communication skillsValid driver’s licenseAbility to bend, push, pull, twist, and lift approximately 60+lbs Maintained vehicle 6 years or newer for frequent weekly travel to facilities Preferred Qualifications Bilingual: English-SpanishPrevious swine field manager experienceWorking Conditions: Must be able to work safely in a physically demanding, live production environment including the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, walk through pens of animals, etc.Must be able to work in a variety of working conditions including but not limited to heat during summer months and cold in winter months.Must be able to work in an environment in which you will be exposed to odors, dusts and gasses that may be uncomfortable or hazardous if proper procedures are not followed The applicant who fills this position will be eligible for the following compensation and benefits:Benefits: Vision, Medical, and Dental coverage begin after 60 days of employment; Paid Time Off: sick leave, vacation, and 6 company observed holidays; 401(k): company match begins after the first year of service and follows the company vesting schedule; Better Futures Program – Online Classes or select 2 Year Community College tuition paid for you or your dependents!
