Position Overview: Position Description We are hiring a Field Application Scientist Manager- Life Science, North America. The Field Application Scientist Manager- Life Science, North America will lead/manage remote based team of Field Application Scientists/Specialists (FAS) within North America in achieving both short-term and long-term company goals. They will develop team goals and metrics for training, service and performance to support sales needs. They will also support designated ‘strategically-important’ products, services, and capabilities to expand business. We are guided and united by our Group Purpose of “giving our world more smiles.” Visit: Job Description: Responsibilities: Simplify the growing product knowledge data within the team environment to achieve customer centric goals for sales and technical colleagues Creating and implementing strategies to provide expert level technical support to customers, sales and distributors (via phone, email, customer visits) Leverage strong structured problem-solving skills to identify and resolve customer need Communicate with the sales leadership to ensure all business needs within region are met. Provide voice of customer to internal teams on product performance, implementation and development areas, identify training and documentation gaps. Author, edit, and/or review technical documentation (e.g. papers/posters) related to specific products or company capabilities Provide feedback to inside personnel on changes in the marketplace and competitive information. Provide input on new product ideas; participate in market assessments for proposed products Assist with training the selling organization on the Life Science product portfolio. Hire, train and onboard new FAS personnel. Organize team roles and evaluate employee performance Develop key performance goals and manage the performance of the team Prepare monthly reports for Sales Leadership to provide insights and actions Attend tradeshows/events and participate in marketing efforts Available to travel up to 40% Required Skills/Education: BS in Biology, Biochemical Engineering or related Life Sciences discipline. MS or PhD is desirable. Ideal candidate will have experience in either: a biotech/biopharm/vaccine/cell therapy company in late-stage R&D and/or Process Development for Upstream Mammalian Cell Culture or a Media development and supply company, being directly involved in an analogous FAS role and/or customer-engaged media optimization/custom product development activities. Candidates should have a minimum of 8 years’ experience working within the biotech/biopharm sector. Candidate should have experience managing an R&D, Formulation or FAS team Advanced level of cell culture science, bioprocess, and general ‘technical marketing’ techniques. Keen strategic thinking and planning Excellent leadership skills, including goal setting, motivating, training and mentorship Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, including writing, speaking and active listening Effective conflict resolution and problem-solving skills Good organization and time management, including the ability to work well in high-pressure situations with tight deadlines Strong analytical thinking skills Aptitude for understanding, communicating, and training scientific concepts, applications and methods. Highly motivated with strong problem-solving skills Customer focused/Strong networking skills Great at building trust and resolving issues Proficient in Office 365 Suite, ie Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneNote, SharePoint, PowerBI Salary and Benefits: The base salary range for this position is $115,108- $161,257. Compensation for the successful candidate will depend on various factors (e.g., qualifications, education, prior experience, location, etc.).
