JOB SUMMARY We are currently seeking a motivated and experienced Fiber Splicer / Field Operations Technician to join our nationwide team. This full-time, travel-based role is critical to the deployment and maintenance of high-performance fiber optic networks across the country. The ideal candidate will have practical, in-the-field experience with fiber optic splicing, testing, and troubleshooting, and be comfortable working independently in dynamic environments. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Install, splice, and test single-mode and multi-mode fiber optic cables and connectors Perform OTDR, power meter, and light source testing for end-to-end validation Interpret fiber optic schematics, splice plans, and network diagrams Conduct troubleshooting and resolve technical issues efficiently in the field Complete preventative maintenance and report potential infrastructure issues Maintain thorough and accurate documentation of all work performed Collaborate with engineering, construction, and project teams to support deployments Manage and maintain inventory of fiber optic tools, test gear, and consumables Follow all safety protocols and adhere to company and industry quality standards REQUIREMENTS High school diploma or equivalent; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a technical field preferred Proven field experience with fiber optic installation, splicing, and testing Strong understanding of OTDRs, power meters, fusion splicers, and related equipment Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail Effective communication skills (both verbal and written) Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Flexible schedule – must be able to work evenings, weekends, or on-call as needed Comfortable with extensive nationwide travel (3–4 weeks at a time) WHAT WE OFFER Competitive pay Paid travel and per diem Opportunity to grow with a rapidly expanding telecom company A supportive team that values quality, safety, and professionalism HOW TO APPLY If you’re passionate about fiber optics, thrive in the field, and are ready to travel and grow with a company that values your work, we want to hear from you.
