About the position Responsibilities Provide excellent customer service by phone or through written correspondence. Conduct fast, accurate investigations including obtaining necessary documents and forms from claimants and insureds. Evaluate and investigate policy coverage, liability, and damages promptly following claim and statutory guidelines. Establish initial reserves for all potential exposures and adjust throughout the claim process. Communicate with involved parties and negotiate appropriate settlements with claimants, insureds, and occasionally body shops and attorneys. Determine appropriate method of inspection based on loss facts and ensure completion of appraisals for accident-related damages. Manage assigned inventory following company guidelines. Review and process mail relating to assigned claims. Recognize recovery opportunities relating to subrogation and salvage. Identify suspicious claim characteristics and refer such claims to the Special Investigations Unit for review. Requirements 0 - 1 year of insurance claims, customer service, sales, and/or underwriting experience preferred, but experience in the general service industry is also acceptable. Proficient PC and Windows skills. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Strong time management, critical thinking, organization, and negotiation skills. Experience providing excellent customer service. Ability to perform basic math calculations and calculate averages and percentages. Current adjusting license or ability to acquire insurance adjuster license in the states of operation. Nice-to-haves Demonstrated experience providing customer-driven solutions, support, or service.
