Farmers Market Sales Associate in Fairfax Farmers Market
Requirements:
• Valid driver’s license
• Access to a personal vehicle (SUV or sedan preferred)
• Our regular market setup includes one 6-ft folding table, two small side tables, a 10x10 canopy tent, and 6–8 medium-sized boxes — all of which fit comfortably in a mid-sized vehicle. On certain days, product pickup from our Ellicott City farm may be required.
Job Summary:
We’re looking for a friendly, dependable, and enthusiastic Sales Associate to represent our handcrafted lavender products at various Farmers Market locations. If you love artisan goods, enjoy talking to people, and take pride in creating a warm and welcoming customer experience, we’d love to hear from you!
Key Responsibilities:
• Customer Engagement: Greet market visitors, share the story behind our products, and provide helpful, positive interactions.
• Sales & Transactions: Promote and sell handmade items such as candles, soap bars, sprays, and dried florals. Accurately handle both cash and card payments (training provided).
• Stall Setup & Breakdown: Load, transport, assemble, and take down market stall materials. Ensure the display is tidy, inviting, and well-stocked throughout the day.
• Cleanliness & Safety: Maintain a neat, sanitary, and safe booth space at all times.
Our standard salary is $20 per hour. Regular Farmers Market hours are 4 hours. We also provide 1 hour of travel pay for each Farmers Market. Therefore, the minimum base salary for a Farmers Market day is $100.
Bonus: For sales over $500, we offer bonus payment (+$10).
For sales over $600, we provide an additional bonus payment (+$10); $700, we provide an additional bonus payment (+$10).
