Fall/Winter Policy & Representation Intern (Remote)
Join our team as a Policy & Representation Intern and play a vital role in advocating for the public radio system. As a member of our dedicated team, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in policy and communications, while contributing to the development of strategies to promote public radio and educate lawmakers. This 28-week part-time internship offers a unique chance to work on legislative research, drafting collateral, preparing presentation materials, and supporting grassroots activities that drive public support for public radio.
As a Policy & Representation Intern, you will:
Conduct legislative research and support research projects to educate lawmakers and promote public radio
Draft collateral materials to raise awareness about public radio and its services
Assist in preparing presentation materials, talking points, and other communications support
Support grassroots activities and events that promote public radio and develop public support
Collaborate with our team to achieve our advocacy goals and promote the public radio system
To be successful in this role, you should have:
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Basic knowledge of the legislative process and familiarity with Congress or state legislatures
Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Google suite products, design software, WordPress, and MailChimp
Experience with social media platforms and content creation
Collaborative working style, with the ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously
Strong organizational and time management skills
This internship offers a competitive hourly rate of $20.00, as well as access to a range of benefits, including:
