Program BackgroundThe Economic and Social Infrastructure Program (ESIP) is an Australian Government Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) program implemented by DT Global. Under strategic direction from DFAT officials at the Australian High Commission in PNG, ESIP is delivering a range of activities and policy initiatives in the energy and telecommunications sectors. ESIP is also supporting PNG’s state-owned enterprise performance improvement program and delivering social infrastructure planning, design and construction services.Gender equality, disability and social inclusion (GEDSI) and social and environmental safeguards are a focus of the program and are mainstreamed across ESIP’s activities and operations. Together, these roles contribute skills in assessing and managing social and environmental risk, integrating GEDSI and social safeguards, strengthening local leadership and partnerships, embedding climate resilience, and generating evidence and learning to inform decision‑making.
