About the Role We are looking for a highly skilled and self-motivated Systems Administrator to join our growing IT team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in systems architecture, maintenance, and monitoring, with a focus on Windows and Linux operating systems. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and improving our core technology infrastructure, including Active Directory architecture, Exchange design, proxy servers, security design, and datacenter design. You will also be expected to troubleshoot complex systems and networking issues, provide critical thinking to resolve problems, and work closely with other IT functional areas to design and implement operational requirements for new and existing IT systems. Key Responsibilities Day-to-day support of server and application environments, ensuring high availability and performance Collaboration with all IT functional areas to design and implement operational requirements for new and existing IT systems Troubleshooting intricate systems and networking issues, using tools such as packet sniffing applications (Snort, TCPDump, Wireshark) and scripting languages (bash, python, PowerShell) Providing critical thinking to complex problems in a 24/7, mission-critical mixed Windows/Linux environment Processing, monitoring, and prioritizing trouble tickets, ensuring timely resolution and minimal downtime Installation and configuration of new servers, including hardware, services, settings, directories, and storage, in accordance with company standards Automation of tasks using tools such as Ansible, to improve efficiency and reduce manual errors Remote datacenter design support and management, ensuring optimal performance and security Participation in on-call rotation, providing 24/7 support for critical systems and applications Support for other key initiatives as dictated by the business, including projects and special assignments Qualifications and Requirements To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong educational foundation in computer science or a related field, with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Management Information Systems (MIS). You should also have relevant certifications, such as MCSE or CCNA, or be near completion of these certifications. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills are essential, as you will be working closely with management, vendors, and external parties, and will need to effectively communicate complex issues in a clear and concise manner.
