We help builders build houses faster and more profitably. We have an immediate opening for an Experienced Rails Web Developer. This position is responsible for the design and development of dynamic Enterprise class software applications and products. As an integral member of the Research & Development team, this position focuses on creating visually appealing products that feature user-friendly design, clear navigation, and are cross-browser compatible. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS • Perform rapid web application development using Ruby on Rails framework. • Conduct front-end web development using HTML, CSS, JavaScript (with jQuery), and/or other programming languages. • Utilize object-relational mapping tools such as Active Record. • Create applications using the MVC design pattern. • Maintain updated knowledge of new and emerging industry trends and technology, and implement them accordingly. • Perform other programming and IT duties as needed or assigned. ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS • Experience proficient programming in a Rails. • Bachelor’s Degree in IT, MIS, CS or related discipline from an accredited college or university. • Experience proficient programming in a C-based, object-oriented language such as Java, C#, C++, etc. • Experience with front-end web development including HTML, CSS and JavaScript (including jQuery). • Experience with Test-Driven Development and automated testing frameworks. • Experience in proficiently writing and executing queries in SQL. PostgreSQL experience a plus. • Experience creating and consuming internal and external APIs. • Experience working in a UNIX/LINUX environment including knowledge of basic commands • Knowledge of SDLC process and deliverables • Knowledge of cloud computing services using AWS • We are a professional services firm providing 11,000 surveys a month to national homebuilders.
