Job Overview We are seeking an experienced Watch Engineer and HVAC Specialist to join our team, working the 12am-8am shift. As a Watch Engineer, you will be responsible for the reliable operation of our buildings, facilities, machinery, and equipment. Your expertise will be crucial in managing and performing work in areas such as refurbishment, preventative maintenance, and reparative maintenance of company buildings, facilities, machinery, and equipment. You will also oversee work related to electric maintenance, mechanics, hydraulics, carpentry, and masonry, ensuring the safety and security of our employees, clients, visitors, and property. Key Responsibilities Manage and perform work in areas such as refurbishment, preventative maintenance, and reparative maintenance of company buildings, facilities, machinery, and equipment Oversight of work related to electric maintenance, mechanics, hydraulics, carpentry, and masonry Ensure the safety and security of employees, clients, visitors, and property Act as a seasoned individual contributor, working independently with limited supervision, and managing projects/processes Coach and review the work of other professionals, influencing others regarding policies, practices, and procedures Achieve operational targets with significant impact on departmental results, working independently on larger, complex projects/assignments Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following essential qualifications: EPA refrigeration Q01 Refrigeration Engineer certification Ability to acquire various NYC certificates, including but not limited to Certificate of Fitness to Operate and Maintain Air Compressors (A-35), Supervisor Fuel-Oil Transfer in Buildings (P-98), Fire Life and Safety Director (F-89), etc. within one year Experienced understanding of business line and specialized discipline, with an understanding of the overall Bank Practical knowledge of project and process management Ability to work independently with significant autonomy and discretion, planning and arranging short-term work Preferred Qualifications While not essential, the following qualifications are preferred: Previous experience working in a similar role, with a strong background in HVAC and facilities management Knowledge of building management systems, HVAC systems, and electrical systems Experience with project management software and tools Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to coach and review the work of other professionals Skills and Competencies To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following skills and competencies: Strong technical skills, with the ability to manage and perform work in areas such as refurbishment, preventative maintenance, and reparative maintenance Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex problems and develop effective solutions Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to coach and review the work of other professionals Ability to work independently with significant autonomy and discretion, planning and arranging short-term work Strong understanding of safety and security protocols, with the ability to ensure the safety and security of employees, clients, visitors, and property Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, we are committed to the growth and development of our employees.
