At VocoVision, we are committed to providing high-quality educational services to students across the country, and we are now seeking an experienced Virtual Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) to join our team in Alabama. As a TVI, you will have the opportunity to work with students of various ages and skill levels, from elementary to high school, and provide them with the support and guidance they need to succeed. Our partner school district in Alabama is looking for a talented and motivated individual to fill this full-time virtual position. As a Virtual TVI, you will work remotely, using Zoom to interact with students, attend IEP meetings, and conduct assessments, tests, and evaluations. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about education, technology, and making a positive impact on the lives of students with visual impairments. Key Responsibilities As a Virtual TVI, your key responsibilities will include: Working with students via Zoom to provide individualized instruction and support Attending IEP meetings to collaborate with other educators and develop personalized education plans Conducting assessments, tests, and evaluations to monitor student progress and identify areas for improvement Developing and implementing lesson plans tailored to the needs of students with visual impairments Communicating with parents, educators, and other stakeholders to ensure a collaborative approach to student support Maintaining accurate records of student progress, including grades, attendance, and communication with parents You will be working with students from elementary to high school, providing support and guidance to help them achieve their academic goals. This is a full-time position, and we are looking for someone who is available to start ASAP and work through the end of May. Essential Qualifications To be considered for this role, you must have: A Master's Degree in Education or a related field An active TVI License/Certification in Alabama At least 2 years of experience as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired A strong understanding of the needs of students with visual impairments and the ability to develop effective strategies to support them Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with students, parents, and educators Proficiency in using technology, including Zoom, to deliver virtual instruction and support We are looking for someone who is passionate about education, motivated, and committed to making a positive difference in the lives of students with visual impairments. Preferred Qualifications While not required, the following qualifications are preferred: Experience working in a virtual or online educational setting Familiarity with assistive technology and adaptive equipment used by students with visual impairments Knowledge of Alabama state standards and regulations related to special education Experience with lesson planning and curriculum development for students with visual impairments A strong understanding of the importance of cultural sensitivity and diversity in education If you have these preferred qualifications, you will be well-equipped to make a positive impact in this role and support the diverse needs of our students.
