Responsibilities As a Virtual Receptionist - Nursing Home Coordinator, you will be responsible for the following key responsibilities: Provide Exceptional Customer Service: Consistently provide superior internal and external customer service, ensuring patient flow runs smoothly and efficiently. Communicate effectively with patients, families, providers, and facilities. Patient Registration and Insurance Verification: Obtain patient registration and insurance information, promptly and accurately entering patient data into our computer system. Insurance Verification and Patient Responsibility Estimates: Verify patient's insurance and accurately enter/update patient information, communicating anticipated patient responsibility in accordance with patient's insurance plan. Confidentiality and HIPAA Compliance: Follow all HIPAA guidelines and rules, maintaining proper personnel conduct and confidentiality of patient, staff, and physician information. Patient Chart Management and Referrals: Manage patient charts, arrange referrals when needed, and send patient information and records as requested by other medical entities with a high level of initiative and integrity. Team Collaboration and Support: Assist other staff when needed in a positive, team-centered manner. Scheduling and Referral Follow-up: Assist in scheduling and following up on provider referrals. Financial Risk Management: Seek out methods and practices to minimize financial risk. Auditing and Compliance: Contract with auditing services to ensure proper financial monitoring and controls are compliant and up-to-date. Requirements To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following qualifications and skills: Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, providers, and facilities. Organizational and Time Management Skills: Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment, with strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Medical Terminology and Procedures: Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures. Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and electronic medical record systems. Experience: 2+ years of experience in a customer-centric role preferred. Certifications: BLS certification preferred. Insurance Knowledge: Familiarity with or ability to understand insurance summary data preferred.
