Job Overview We are seeking a skilled and passionate Virtual Math Tutor to work with students in grades 6-8, providing one-on-one or small group tutoring sessions in a virtual setting. As a Virtual Math Tutor, you will be responsible for creating a supportive and engaging learning environment, helping students to build their confidence and skills in math. This is a remote contract position, offering a flexible schedule that allows you to choose your own availability and work at times that suit you best. Key Responsibilities Provide high-quality virtual math tutoring to students in grades 6-8, supporting them in their understanding of middle school math concepts Create a supportive and engaging learning environment, helping students to build their confidence and skills in math Commit to a consistent schedule, working with the same students multiple times a week, to build strong tutor-student relationships Complete curriculum reviews and prepare for tutoring sessions, using provided lesson materials and online virtual tools Communicate effectively with students, using clear and concise language, and providing feedback and support as needed Set your own availability, choosing the days and times that work best for you, with a minimum of 3-4 days a week between 8am-9am EST Essential Qualifications Relevant experience working with school-age learners in some capacity, such as teaching, tutoring, or mentoring Relatively consistent ongoing calendar availability from 8am-9am EST, 3-4 days a week Ability to effectively instruct and engage students, using clear communication and interpersonal skills High comfort level with online virtual tools and technology, including desktop or laptop, video camera, and reliable internet connection Residence in the continental United States, Alaska, or Hawaii Bachelor's degree preferred, but college students are welcome to apply with 1+ years of relevant experience Preferred Qualifications Experience working with students in grades 6-8, or similar age groups Strong knowledge of middle school math concepts, including algebra and geometry Experience with online tutoring platforms and virtual learning environments Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision, and as part of a remote team Skills and Competencies Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to engage and motivate students Patience, empathy, and understanding, with ability to support students with varying learning styles and needs Organizational and time management skills, with ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities Technical skills, including proficiency with online virtual tools and platforms, and ability to troubleshoot technical issues Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits As a Virtual Math Tutor with Littera Education, you will have the opportunity to develop your skills and expertise in a supportive and collaborative environment.
