Your key responsibilities will include editing manuscripts, maintaining communication with freelance artists and writers, and providing feedback on story and art. You will also be involved in building schedules, setting deadlines, and coordinating with various departments, including production, marketing, and sales.
Key Responsibilities
Support the managing editor in all aspects of book creation, including reporting on project progress and editing manuscripts
Maintain communication with freelance artists and writers, providing feedback on story and art
Help build schedules and set deadlines for talent, ensuring timely completion of projects
Coordinate with various departments, including production, marketing, and sales, to ensure seamless project execution
Review materials and provide resources to Marvel licensees, ensuring adherence to Marvel brand guidelines and standards
Collect reference materials for consultants and licensees, and assist in growing new series ideas and initiatives based on market trends
Identify and recommend exciting new voices and creators, and assist with writing tasks, such as drafting text and promotional copy
Essential Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess a strong foundation in editing and writing, with a Bachelor's degree in English, Writing, Journalism, or a related field. You should have a solid understanding of digital tools, including Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office, as well as excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong organizational abilities, with the capacity to multitask and prioritize multiple project components, are also essential. Additionally, you should have experience handling style and standards for creative products, as well as a passion for exceptional storytelling and knowledge of the Young Adult and Children's marketplace.
