Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Title I Tutor to join our team in Idaho Falls School District 91. As a Title I Tutor, you will play a critical role in supporting the delivery of our district's written, taught, tested, and reported curriculum, and contribute to maximizing student achievement in reading and math. Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for the following key duties:
Administering reading and math tests to identify the level of student achievement
Working with the classroom teacher and Building Administrator to determine the instructional needs of each Title I student
Working with small groups of students and with individual students in reading and math
Maintaining student files as requested and required by the needs of federal, state, and local guidelines to track student progress
Assisting the Federal Programs Office in gathering a variety of data that is needed for reporting to state and/or federal agencies
Attending inservice classes, building meetings, monthly program meetings, and district meetings
Preparing tutoring area for instructional activities and constructing learning materials
Attending Parent Teacher Conferences for Title I students as requested
Operating equipment (i.e. tape recorders, VCR's, overhead projectors, and copy machines)
Assisting students on arrival and departure from tutoring area
Designing tutoring schedule for working with qualified Title I students
Orders materials and supplies through the Building Administrator
Communicates with parents and families as directed by teacher or administrator
Maintains accurate records to assist in compiling data for a variety of reports required by state and federal agencies
Participates in the school as a regular part of the staff and accepts supervision and other duties as requested
Maintains high standards of ethical behavior and confidentiality
Has regular and predictable attendance
Essential Qualifications
To be considered for this exciting opportunity, you must possess the following essential qualifications:
A minimum of 48 college credits or a minimum score of 460 on the ParaPro Praxis
Knowledge and skill in the teaching and use of math and reading, including the ability to pronounce vowels, consonants, phrases, and words in a phonetically correct manner
Ability to administer standardized and other diagnostic tests
Demonstrated aptitude for the work to be performed
Ability to work with staff, students, and the public
Computer knowledge and experience with word processing, e-mail, spreadsheets, etc.
Preferred Qualifications
While not mandatory, the following qualifications are preferred:
Previous experience as a Title I Tutor or in a similar role
Experience working with students with diverse needs and abilities
Knowledge of curriculum design and instructional strategies
Experience with data collection and analysis
