About the Role

As a Test Development Engineer, you'll play a critical role in driving the success of our security activities with external manufacturing partners and internal Google test development teams. You'll be responsible for providing ongoing software development support, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and driving test and security enhancements. Key Responsibilities


Design and define the security hardening process and provide guidance to Contract Manufacturers (North America)
Collaborate with internal and partner architects and administrators to drive test and security enhancements
Work with cross-functional teams to investigate security issues and identify solutions
Manage operating system upgrades and provide support for periodic hardening refreshes, network security, remote access, and system administrator of test stations
Work with Python test scripts based on test specifications and perform root cause analysis of system test failures
Implement corrective or preventive actions to ensure the smooth operation of our systems


Essential Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you'll need to have a strong foundation in the following areas:


A four-year certification in Electrical Designing, PC Designing, Software engineering, or comparable practical insight
At least 5 years of experience in software development, hardware research, or test engineering
Experience working with security policy/protocol, servers, or network equipment
Experience with Python programming development, coding, input/output systems (Profiles), and operating systems
A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field


Preferred Qualifications

Cloud platform software development
Working in security or software development teams
Testing products for manufacturing, working with partner or contract manufacturing (ODM, OEM, JDM)
