Job Overview We are currently looking for a qualified Telugu language teacher to provide private lessons to two of our clients in New York City. The clients, who are sisters, are eager to learn Telugu and have specified their requirements for the course. The ideal candidate will be a native speaker of Telugu or hold a teaching degree, with experience as a language teacher, translator, or interpreter. The ability to work on a freelance, part-time basis and live up to 30 miles from the client's location (New York, NY 10007) is essential. Key Responsibilities Provide high-quality, engaging Telugu language lessons to two clients in a two-to-one setting Develop and implement a tailored lesson plan to meet the clients' needs and goals Conduct 15 x 2-hour sessions, with a total course length of 30 hours Teach at the teacher's office/home or a public location, ideally near New York, NY 10007 Be flexible with scheduling, with classes to be held on Saturday morning, Sunday morning, Monday morning, or Monday evening (7PM onwards) Assess the clients' progress and provide feedback to ensure they meet their learning objectives Essential Qualifications Be a native speaker of Telugu or hold a teaching degree in Telugu or a related field Have experience as a language teacher, translator, or interpreter Hold a valid working visa (we are not able to sponsor your visa) Live up to 30 miles from the client's location (New York, NY 10007) Be reliable, punctual, and willing to learn Preferred Qualifications Previous experience teaching Telugu to elementary-level students Knowledge of language teaching methodologies and techniques Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Familiarity with online learning platforms and technology Skills and Competencies To succeed in this role, you will need to possess excellent language teaching skills, with the ability to adapt to the clients' needs and learning styles.
