Job Overview We are seeking an experienced Tech Lead Software Engineer to join our Data Science Engineering team. As a Tech Lead, you will play a key role in shaping the future of our data science capabilities and leading a team of engineers in the development, delivery, and operation of highly reliable software applications. You will be responsible for ensuring the technical quality of the software produced by the development team and collaborating closely with business stakeholders to ensure that software meets functional and non-functional requirements. Key Responsibilities Provide accurate development estimates to support feasibility assessments and planned development activities Design, maintain, review, and approve application architectures in collaboration with Solution Architects and shared services teams, ensuring alignment with relevant architecture standards and considering trade-offs Develop, maintain, and review software with a focus on quality and effectiveness Design, maintain, review, and execute unit, functional, and integration tests with an emphasis on automation and test-driven development Provide technical oversight for performance testing, ensuring that design and results align with anticipated non-functional requirements Plan and manage application deployment activities and sequencing in non-production and production environments Explore new technologies that could improve applications and development activities Identify and resolve technical debt as appropriate, weighing development effort against value returned Mentor and guide the Development Team on relevant architecture, design, development, and operations topics Review code to ensure that it is valid, is properly structured, meets industry standards, and is compatible with programs, devices, or operating systems Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will need: A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field Advanced knowledge of software development methodologies, practices, concepts, and technologies Advanced knowledge of at least one programming language and broad knowledge of at least one additional programming language Knowledge of project management methodology and principles Ability to demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to staying ahead of issues Skilled in communication with the ability to articulate a clear vision and needs on ideas, approaches, concepts, decisions, risks, impacts, and implications to technical, non-technical, and management audiences Preferred Qualifications While not required, the following qualifications are preferred: Experience with data science engineering and application development Knowledge of cloud-based technologies and platforms Experience with agile development methodologies and version control systems Ability to lead and motivate a team of engineers Strong understanding of software architecture and design patterns Skills and Competencies To succeed in this role, you will need to possess the following skills and competencies: Strong technical leadership and mentoring skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-based, customer-focused environment Strong problem-solving and analytical skills Ability to lead multiple efforts simultaneously, whether administrative or project-related, while maintaining a high level of completion in their own work Career Growth and Learning Benefits At arenaflex, we are committed to the growth and development of our employees.
