Our Buffalo Grove, IL location is seeking an experienced professional to lead our tooling and molding operations. About the Role Reporting to the Tooling Manager, the Team Leader - Tooling is responsible for providing leadership and direction to non-exempt employees within tooling and molding operations. This role requires a strong and diverse skillset to drive success in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. As a Team Leader - Tooling, you'll be responsible for: Providing ongoing feedback on individual performance through formal and informal evaluations Initiating and participating in process development and cost improvement projects Coordinating people resource requirements for the department Assisting in department budget planning and managing department expenses Communicating daily plans and production or customer service issues Highlighting material shortages and interfacing with Expediter/Purchasing on part shortages Recognizing and monitoring bottlenecks and reporting downtime Interfacing with Test Support/Maintenance on equipment problems Tracking time for NPI/Pre-production/re-work and communicating with the opposite shift Updating department communication boards and following quality indicators Serving as the primary contact for responding to situations where scrap is occurring in any process step Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you'll need: A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in tooling and molding operations Willingness to learn Tririga software for work order management Proficiency in cost tracking and understanding of tool making Strong leadership and communication skills Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment Preferred Qualifications While not required, the following qualifications are highly desirable: Experience with manufacturing operations and process improvement Knowledge of quality indicators and metrics Familiarity with manufacturing software and systems Strong problem-solving and analytical skills Skills and Competencies To excel in this role, you'll need to possess: Strong leadership and team management skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to analyze data and drive process improvements Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment Career Growth Opportunities At Flex, we're committed to helping our employees grow and develop their careers.
