About the Role As a T1 Fresh Start Math Tutor, you will play a vital role in providing targeted support to students who require additional assistance to meet their academic goals. This position offers a flexible, hybrid remote arrangement, allowing you to work from the comfort of your own home while still being part of a close-knit team. Your primary focus will be on delivering research-based math interventions to students, helping them build confidence and skills in mathematics. Key Responsibilities Review curriculum content and grade levels for students served in tutoring sessions to ensure targeted support. Collaborate with classroom teachers to identify skill gaps and develop strategies to address them. Assist in determining student needs and regularly review progress to adjust instruction and support. Design and implement individualized and small-group instruction plans to improve students' math performance. Motivate students to learn mathematics and develop a growth mindset. Monitor computer use while working with small groups and maintain a fast-paced schedule. Requirements and Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will need: A Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field (e.g., education, mathematics). 6-12 Teaching Certificate with a focus on Mathematics. In-depth knowledge of the Common Core State Standards and math content. Willingness to learn and implement research-based strategies to support student learning. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities. Preferred qualifications include: Previous experience in teaching or tutoring mathematics. Familiarity with educational technology and digital tools.
