About the Role As a Substitute Teacher with Scoot Education, you'll have the flexibility to work on your own schedule while making a positive impact on students' lives. Our substitutes are the backbone of our organization, and we're committed to providing you with the tools and support you need to excel in the classroom. Key Responsibilities Provide high-quality instruction and support to students in the absence of their regular teacher Develop and implement engaging lesson plans, as needed Manage classroom behavior and create a positive learning environment Communicate effectively with school staff, administrators, and parents Participate in 1:1 check-ins with your designated Scoot consultant to discuss school feedback and develop your skills Essential Qualifications Associate or Bachelor's degree, or 60+ college credits Three professional references, including one from a previous direct supervisor NJ Substitute Credential Background check and TB risk assessment (we'll cover the cost of this!) Full COVID-19 vaccination A passion for education and putting students first Preferred Qualifications Previous teaching or substitute teaching experience Special education or paraprofessional experience Experience working with diverse student populations Knowledge of trauma-informed teaching and classroom management strategies Skills and Competencies To be successful as a Substitute Teacher with Scoot Education, you'll need: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to think critically and adapt to changing situations Strong organizational and time management skills Empathy and understanding of diverse student needs A growth mindset and willingness to learn and develop your skills What We Offer At Scoot Education, we're committed to supporting our substitutes and helping them succeed.
