About the Role: Flexible, Rewarding, and Impactful As a Substitute Teacher with Scoot Education, you'll have the autonomy to choose your assignments and work on your own schedule. You'll be supported every step of the way by our dedicated team, including a personal consultant who will help you develop your skills and navigate your subbing journey. Key Responsibilities: Provide high-quality instruction and support to students in the absence of their regular teacher Adapt to different classroom environments and teaching styles Manage classroom behavior and ensure a safe and respectful learning environment Deliver lesson plans and engage students in meaningful learning activities Communicate effectively with school staff, teachers, and administrators Participate in 1:1 check-ins with your Scoot consultant to discuss school feedback and develop your skills Essential Qualifications: Associate or Bachelor's degree, or 60+ college credits NJ Substitute Credential Background check & TB risk assessment (we'll cover the cost of this) Full COVID-19 vaccination Three professional references, including one from a previous direct supervisor A passion for education and putting students first An empathetic nature, a growth mindset, and a drive to be the best you can be Preferred Qualifications: Previous experience as a Substitute Teacher or in a related educational role Special Education experience or certification Experience working with diverse student populations Skills and Competencies: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to adapt to changing situations and priorities Strong classroom management and organizational skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Proficiency in technology, including educational software and platforms Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits: At Scoot Education, we're committed to helping our substitutes grow and develop in their careers.
