About the Role: Substitute Teacher in Tenafly, NJ We're seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Substitute Teacher to join our team in Tenafly, NJ. As a Substitute Teacher with Scoot Education, you'll have the flexibility to choose your assignments and work on your own schedule. Our competitive pay rates, up to $190 for day-to-day assignments and more for long-term assignments, reflect our commitment to valuing your skills and experience. Key Responsibilities: Provide high-quality instruction and support to students in the absence of their regular teacher Develop and implement engaging lesson plans, as needed Manage classroom behavior and create a positive learning environment Communicate effectively with school staff, administrators, and parents Participate in 1:1 check-ins with your Scoot consultant to discuss school feedback and develop your skills Be available for assignments on a flexible schedule, with the opportunity to choose your own shifts Essential Qualifications: Associate or Bachelor's degree, or 60+ college credits NJ Substitute Credential Three professional references, including one from a previous direct supervisor Background check and TB risk assessment (we'll cover the cost of this) Full COVID-19 vaccination A passion for education and putting students first An empathetic nature, a growth mindset, and a drive to be the best you can be Preferred Qualifications: Previous experience as a substitute teacher or in a related educational role Special education experience or certification Subject-specific expertise (e.g., Math, Science, English, etc.) Experience working with diverse student populations Skills and Competencies: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to adapt to new situations and challenges Strong organizational and time management skills Classroom management and discipline techniques Knowledge of curriculum and instructional strategies Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits: At Scoot Education, we're committed to helping you grow and develop as an educator.
